07 / Habit tracker

The "Habit Tracker" project aims to create an application that helps individuals develop and maintain healthy habits. Extensive user research, including interviews and contextual investigations, is conducted to understand user needs. A visual persona is created based on one of the target users identified during the interviews, representing an active yet disorganized individual. The app incorporates gamification elements to make habit formation engaging. Through iterative design cycles and user feedback, the app's functionality and usability are continuously improved. The application is prototyped in Adobe XD and evaluated using methods such as questionnaires and usability testing to assess its effectiveness. The project highlights our commitment to user-centered design and creating impactful products that enhance users' lives.

GOALS
The primary objective of the project was to create a user-friendly application that simplifies daily tasks and promotes motivation through gamified habit tracking. Additionally, the project aimed to evaluate the application through user testing, identifying areas for improvement and refinement.
Take aways
The project underscored the crucial importance of user evaluation throughout the design process. By conducting extensive research and soliciting feedback from users, we gained valuable insights into their preferences, pain points, and expectations. This iterative evaluation approach allowed us to make informed design decisions, resulting in an app that truly caters to the needs of its users. The user evaluation process not only enhanced the overall user experience but also ensured that the final product aligned with their requirements. This emphasis on user evaluation reinforced the significance of user-centric design and its positive impact on the project's success.

The development process

Highlights of the development process of the current project.

Design Research

This step involves conducting benchmarking, interviews, contextual investigations, and creating persona hypotheses to understand the users' needs and establish a strong foundation for the project.

Ideation

Based on the research findings, this phase focuses on generating ideas and concepts for the habit tracker application, considering gamification elements and user motivations to encourage behavior change.

Prototyping

In this step, the team creates a functional prototype of the habit tracker application in Adobe Xd, incorporating the ideas and concepts generated during the ideation phase.

Evaluation and user testing

The prototype is evaluated through methods such as usability testing, interviews, and questionnaires to assess its effectiveness, cognitive load, gamification elements, and overall interface design. User feedback is collected to identify areas for improvement.

Refinements

Based on the evaluation findings and user feedback, necessary refinements and adjustments are made to enhance the usability, functionality, and overall user experience of the habit tracker application.

Final design

After incorporating refinements, the final design of the habit tracker application is developed, taking into account the insights gained from the evaluation and user testing phases. This design is ready for further development or implementation.
